The Knitting Workshop

Our Knitting Workshop is a place for fostering a love for knitting in a setting which combines boat building craftmanship and nature.

We’d like to provide a welcoming space where creativity and community thrive. Visitors can expect hands-on guidance, a supportive environment, and the joy of creating beautiful, handcrafted pieces.

The workshop is located on Lot’s Ait, an island in the river Thames between Kew Gardens and Brentford. The island is home to a number of houseboats as well as a working boatyard.

Lot’s Ait can be accessed via a footbridge. If you’re booked in to see us, we’d be meeting you at the top of the bridge so that we can let you in and guide you to our Workshop.

Facilities are fairly basic and there is no step-free access but if you can make it down to see us, we hope you’ll find the Knitting Workshop an inspiring environment.

Buses 65, 237, 267, 235 all stop nearby.

>> All purchases made whilst visiting the Knitting Workshop on the Ait will come with an 8% discount <<
